The Air Jordan 5 ¡°Shattered Backboard¡± or ¡°Orange Blaze¡± updates Michael Jordan¡¯s fifth signature shoe in a colorway first seen on the Air Jordan 1 back in 2015. The ¡°Shattered Backboard¡± theme is inspired by team uniforms worn by Jordan during an oversea exhibition game in Italy in 1985 when he famously shattered a glass backboard following a powerful dunk. The Jordan 5¡¯s version of the ¡°Shattered Backboard¡± makes use of the same white, black, and orange color scheme as every ¡°Shattered Backboard¡± Air Jordan before it, albeit in a unique way. Sail leather appears on the upper while the collar, quarter panel, and lower tongue are constructed in a fine mesh material that appears on the Jordan 5 for the first time on this colorway. The top of the tongue, which displays an Orange Blaze Jumpman, is treated to the same reflective silver finish as the Jordan 5¡¯s original construction. A black Jumpman is stitched onto the heel. Silver shark tooth detailing is found on the orange painted midsole. Release date: October 2, 2021
